To celebrate the 40th anniversary of reform and opening up, promote the creation of realistic-theme-based stage art, the exhibition of outstanding national stage artworks was launched in Beijing on 15th October, sponsored by the ministry of culture and tourism of the country. The exhibition lasted from 15th October to 30th December, covering more than 200 works and 600 shows nationwide.

As one of the top 14 masterpieces, the national opera “Love Makes Home有爱才有家家” was performed between 31st October and 1st November, obtaining an unprecedentedly success and enthusiastic response. The work was produced by the government of Gongan country (Jingzhou city, Hubei province) and collectively performed by the art school of Wuhan University, art education centre of Wuhan University, and Jingzhou City Nine Culture media co.LTD. The play was created by the famous dramatist Hu Yingming and composer Wang Yuanping, directed by Deng desen, and conducted by Luo Yilin and Wu Bo. Particularly, the show was starred by Liu Danli as the dean of art school of Wuhan University who was also awarded Plum Blossom Prize twice. The professional, skillful, and sincere actors won thunderous applause for many times during the performance.
Fortunately, the work “Love Makes Home” was selected into the “Project of the Heritage and Development of Chinese National Opera” which was supported by the ministry of culture of China, as well as many honors. It has been continuously performing for many times all of the country, gaining extensive attention from the mainstream media such as CCTV, People’s Daily, Xinhua Net, Sina and media of local governments. As a piece of serious art, the show was not only highly praised by the artists and critics but also embraced by the general audiences.
It is necessary to clarify that many performers of the show were not professional, such as the students form the university, which means that they had to spend almost all their off hours on rehearsal to ensure the quality of the show. When talking about the feeling of the participation, they replied that they paid a lot to the show while they got more from different forms: a great chance of artistic practice, more significantly, an experience of education of mind.
After learning the students’ comments and feelings, Han Jin, as the secretary of Wuhan University, said with a pleasure that “there is nothing closer to the essence of education and our responsibility than providing students with such a practice through “love makes home”.
